Spawning Community Interest in the Protection of Rivers & Watersheds.
Help protect our local waterways! This is a challenge to the Guiding community to participate in marking storm drains and handing out information which encourages members of local neighborhoods to safeguard the water supply by keeping pollutants out of the storm drain system. Many people are surprised to learn that water entering the curbside storm drains flows directly into the local rivers untreated.
There are 4 kits available (each kit has enough material for 30 girls to do storm drain marking.)
There is no cost to borrow these kits but a $20.00 deposit is required and is returned when and if the kit is returned in good condition.
Book kits in advance of your event from Heather at Guide Centre. Call 403.283.8348 local 30.

Girl Guides of Canada partners with Trout Unlimited Canada in an ongoing Community Environmental Service Project aimed at reminding Calgarians that our street level stormwater drains empty directly into local waterways. We challenge your unit to take part!
